A good working machine operates
smoothly and efficiently, thus do our
office forces. These forces, headed by
Mrs. Betty Ray Barnett and Miss Earlene
Cleaver, secretaries to Dr. Glasgow and
Mr. Ferguson respectively, handle much
of our routine work.
Mr. CLYDE FERGUSON, Principal
Mr. Ferguson is a former Blackwell resident,
serving as principal of the Junior High School
there for seven years. This year, his first at
Edmond, he introduced the semester test exemp-
tion plan which was received with much enthu-
siasm. We hope this year, 1950-Sl, marks the
beginning of a long and eventful stay with us.
Dr. MERLE W. GLASGOW, Superintendent
Dr. Glasgow became the Superintendent of the
public schools of Edmond in September of l947,
coming here from Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He had
served as Superintendent there for seven years.
His four years at Edmond High School have indeed
been successful, for he has many fine accom-
plishments to his credit and has also made many
friends. We feel that Dr.Glasgow has our interests
at heart and that he is doing a commendable iob.

The Faculty of Edmond High School meets once each weelc to dis-
cuss ways and means of keeping our school one of the best in the
state. In these meetings the teachers discuss the various problems
that may arise. Edmond High School scholastic ratings are compared
with those of other schools and various new systems are introduced.
Combining these things Edmond High School will continue to remain
well above average in National Scholastic ratings.

The Edmond High School Student Council is composed ofsixteen members elected
by the student body ot the beginning of the school term. The number of represen-
tatives is divided according to classification.
One ofthe Council's proiects this year was the purchasing of a replica ofthe
Statue of Liberty. This was done to make the public more aware of the principles
which the statue stands for.
Other proiects were an intramural sports tournament and u friendliest boyand
girl contest. The various activities were held to improve school spirit, encourage
friendship, and lead the student body in fair and sound policies.

The Edmond High School Speech Department this year has proved to be
well organized and efficient in representing the school in its plays,
debates, and individual competition. Through a well directed system of
classes and extra curricular work, E. H. S. has been well represented
in inter-scholastic speech competition and local speech work.
The annual Speech play, "Our Town," will long be remembered as
a wonderful reflection upon the efforts and work of the Speech l Class.
ln debate, E. H. S. is among the top contenders ta represent Oklahoma
at the National Tournament, having shown up well in all tournaments
entered and placing first at one.
ln individual speech work, Edmond speech students have captured
many firsts at several tournaments and repeatedly placed at all of them.
The Speech Department is a fine example of the co-operation of E.H.S
speech students and the speech director, Mrs. Smith.

"When you come to the end of a perfect day, near the
end of a iourney too."
Yes, we seniors of 'Sl have truly come to theend
of four swell years of fun, work, and play in E. H. S.
Needless to say, we've had some grief and hard
times. Butwefeel that these are all rightfully included
in sucha wonderful four years. Of course, we've under-
taken many class proiects--negro minstrels, selling
"T" shirts, sponsoring
Kings and Queens, selling
concessions, and sponsor-
ing the yearbook.
So now, as we hear
those strains of' "Pump
and Circumstance," and
we go a little sadly down
the aisle, we want the ' g, ,,
teachers to know that we S ' 'rv-"l,
really hate to leave 'ole X bl of L
E. H. S.!
Well, this is truly the
end ofa perfect day!
