Royalty Wendy Chester, our 1980 Homecoming Queen, has attended Edison for all three of her high school years. As a first year cheerleader, she is always on the go. Tim Kaczrowski, our 1980 Homecoming King, has also been here at Edison for three years. As a captain of the football team this year, he has plenty to do. After an injury in the first game this year, a knee operation had to be performed. Although he was put to the sidelines for the season, he still looks forward to the near future when he will again be playing the field. Theme 13

Homecoming Wednesday, October 8, 1980, with our Homecoming week shortened, the twenty-four King and Queen candidates were chosen. For Queen: Sheila Anderson, Wendy Chester, Cindy Gilbertson, Sue Hagen, Rhonda Hanson, Charla Hanstad, Paula Hoskins, Lisa Hunzelmann, Michelle Miller, Shelly Robertson, Anne Robillard, and Jackie Spano. For King: Jim Anderson, Dan Bosell, Robert Dowson, Scott Fussy, Chris Gorecki, Tim Kaczrowski, Tony Marchiafava, Brian Person, Mike Sams, Mark Uchanski, Dean Villella, and Craig Weinstock. The ten finalists were: Sheila Anderson, Wendy Chester, Michelle Miller, Shelly Robertson, Anne Robillard, Dan Bosell, Chris Gorecki, Tim Kaczrowski, Mark Uchanski, and Dean Villella. The following evening, Thursday, October 9, as the assembly progressed, the Queen finalists sat nervously awaiting the outcome, while the King finalists looked like they were either going to get sick or shot. After eighty minutes of sheer torture for the finalists, the coronation began. From last year, we had King John Schlundt and Queen Cindy Carlson there to crown their 1980 successors. After several moments of tense anticipation (and a short clip of our Magnificent Marching Band 1979 half time show). King Tim Kaczrowski and Queen Wendy Chester were crowned. 12 Theme

Around the World in Eighty Minutes A salute to the countries of the world, presented by the Pom-Toms, set off the 1980 Homecoming Show and Coronation entitled Around the World in Eighty Minutes. This extravaganza, produced and directed by Jack Litowsky, took place on the eve of Homecoming, October 9th, at 7:30 pm. This show consisted of various skits, such as the Lumberjacks and the Doughboys, songs by Kim Joncas and Peggie Wigen, and dances by Christelle Audette and Irene Malec. The Freshmen made their appearance, along with the fabulous dancers, La Bamba. The show was concluded by the jamming of the rock groups Black Star and Touch 'n Go. The evening ended with the crowning of King Tim and Queen Wendy. 2 3 4 14 Theme
