‘ ‘Out of the Blue’’ It was an Edison Victory on Homecoming Day 1980 by a score of 8 to 0. After the game, alumni were invited for post game refreshments. Later that evening fifty couples paid S5.00 admittance to the Homecoming Dance held in the lunchroom. Out of the Blue played mellow music until 11:00 p.m. The dance was sponsored by the Student Council, all of whom worked hard to make a most enjoyable night for all. The chaperones were Mrs. Bout-sioukos, Mrs. Charles, Mr. Elavsky, and the Student Council advisor Mr. Schulz. Theme ll

Tommies Over Millers 8-0 On a cold, windy day in October, Edison crushed the Millers of Washburn in the only game played at Edison. It was Homecoming 1980. The cold weather dampened the game, but not the fans. The Edison touchdown was set up by a fumble on the Millers 15 yard line. Edison scored on a 6 yard run up the middle by Craig Wein-stock followed by a two point conversion play which found Weinstock throwing to Rozek in the end zone. At half time Edison led 8-0. The half time show consisted of the field exhibition presented by the Edison High School Marching Band and silks. In the second half drizzle fell, but not our defense, which held strong keeping the Millers scoreless. 10 Theme

Homecoming Wednesday, October 8, 1980, with our Homecoming week shortened, the twenty-four King and Queen candidates were chosen. For Queen: Sheila Anderson, Wendy Chester, Cindy Gilbertson, Sue Hagen, Rhonda Hanson, Charla Hanstad, Paula Hoskins, Lisa Hunzelmann, Michelle Miller, Shelly Robertson, Anne Robillard, and Jackie Spano. For King: Jim Anderson, Dan Bosell, Robert Dowson, Scott Fussy, Chris Gorecki, Tim Kaczrowski, Tony Marchiafava, Brian Person, Mike Sams, Mark Uchanski, Dean Villella, and Craig Weinstock. The ten finalists were: Sheila Anderson, Wendy Chester, Michelle Miller, Shelly Robertson, Anne Robillard, Dan Bosell, Chris Gorecki, Tim Kaczrowski, Mark Uchanski, and Dean Villella. The following evening, Thursday, October 9, as the assembly progressed, the Queen finalists sat nervously awaiting the outcome, while the King finalists looked like they were either going to get sick or shot. After eighty minutes of sheer torture for the finalists, the coronation began. From last year, we had King John Schlundt and Queen Cindy Carlson there to crown their 1980 successors. After several moments of tense anticipation (and a short clip of our Magnificent Marching Band 1979 half time show). King Tim Kaczrowski and Queen Wendy Chester were crowned. 12 Theme
