Basketball is always a favorite sport at Edison. Although the 1948-49 team was not very successful in chalking up victories, the boys never lost spirit. The team was handicapped all season by the height of the players. Some of the games were lost by very close margins. The boys played ex- ceptionally well in the Christmas and Sectional tournaments. The team was rated as one of the smallest in the Calumet area, but one of the scrappiest.
