It is our heritage, yours and mineg an inheritance left to us by all the preceding generations of mankind. While some of it is good, much of it seems unsettled and violent. What are we going to do with this inheritance, our future? Will we spend it wisely? Will we waste it foolishly? The road before us is not smooth. Until today our lives have been comparatively simple and sheltered. Now we must meet new, bewildering obstacles. Each that we overcome, and each personal triumph over adverse conditions, are steps forward to- ward a brighter tomorrow. We, perhaps, face a more complex future than many previous generations., With the new powers unleashed by science, the fate of the world is literally in our hands. In this turmoil we will turn in memory to the security and pleasures of our days spent at Edgewood Park. There we made friendships that will last a lifetime. That part of our life is lasting, for there we prepared ourselves to step forward courageously and face the world. ' Da. mn Mas. Urro Horslzn edication , . T IS with distinct pleasure that we, the CLASS OF 1952, dedicate the 1952 SKETCH BOOK to Dr. and Mrs. Houser. To Mrs. Houser we express sincere gratitude for her compassionate guidanceg to Dr. Houser for his inspirational Chapel talks. Their friendliness and assistanceiboth curricular and extra- curricular-have etched deeply into our lives. To Dr. and Mrs. Houser, whose memory we shall revere, we extend our heart felt thanks and appreciation. stixli X.
