Gessert amz aj .e pea . 1qFTER MORE than a year of hard work, the Board of Education can be justly proud of the result it has achieved: a new school building. An unusual number of meetings was necessary to push forward building plansg the board, which usually met once a month, got together two and three times monthly. In addition, committees met twice a week before the new building was under full construction. In considering all the problems of the school year, the Board approved the purchase of a school bus by the Agriculture and Athletic departments, purchased other necessary equipment, and determined school policies and plans.

Miss Kienow relaxes from her commercial duties by skating, while Mr. Kerr carries his manual arts work into his hobby by building a house trailer and a new home. The English department finds fun in a variety of activities. Miss Huhn enjoys tennis and play- ing the violin. Miss Wagner raises Cocker Span- iels and writes stories in her spare time. Miss McMeans likes reading and skating, and Miss Jae- ger finds a change from Junior High teaching with a Senior High English class. The musicians, Mr. Boyd and Miss Ness, ex- tend their enjoyment of music beyond their clas- ses and into their leisure. Mr. Boyd also collects toy animals, and Miss Ness knits. When they leave their laboratories, Mr. Rood becomes a biologist whose main interest is fish- ing, and Mr. Bloss, a physicist who enjoys photo- graphy. Coach Ewers needs no hobby, as he spends all his time on sports. Miss Holloway, too, enjoys her occupation, and spends her leisure time on music, hiking, and reading. Whether they are seen behind a school desk or astride a hobby horse, Edgerton teachers main- tain the modern, up-to-date spirit which is typical of Edgerton High School.
