Gil 1-Url ffl-' rUIU1l LUHEN THE new auxiliary high school celebrates lts first birthday in October the citizens of Edgerton will realize a dream which has been before them constantly as the enrollment of the high school has in creased and as the curriculum has expanded Thirty years have seen the development of vocal and lnstrumental instruction an expansion of the physical educatlon program a new em phasis in the field of art and the 1n1t1at1on of the home economics and agriculture departments which are a vital part of school life To house these departments to allow more room for lockers and rest rooms and to give students the benefit of modern equ1pment the city of Edgerton with the aid of a government grant has been able to construct the new unit. The fulfillment of this dream will reward all those who for more than a year have made the project their chief interest by contributing their loyal support in the form of financial aid and time. ----0-il 3 l 'P

fill: I!! lil.: DID 'HOT TO BE slighted as attention is focused on the new building' the old high school which has been serving the community faithfully cele brated 1tS thirtieth birthday in March This occasion might have passed unnoticed had it not been for the fact that the Crimson staff decided to use the above sketch which was done by Lee H Salisbury a student in the Edgerton high school and a member of the first graduating class to hold 1ts commencement in this building In communicating with Mr Salisbury who has become a recognized artist the staff found that he and Miss Jessica North were the two sen iors selected to write and deliver the dedicatory speeches thirty years ago The name of Miss Florence Child who generously contributed to the school fund IS especially honored in the history of the high school The building for which she was largely responsible will remain in service with the specialized phases of school life making their home in the new auxil- iary unit. ----v-il 2 O93-+'c
