Members of the joint school board were from front to back and left to right: Glenn Rohde, Betty Nichols, Kaye McAtee, Jerry Fife, Sharron Kelly, Gloria Milligan, Dick Snow, Bob Hale, Ron Linn, Richard Latham.
Being a school board member is one of the most difficult and thankless jobs there is. During the two years of the trial merger the Stanfield and Echo School Boards met as one board to discuss and make decisions on various educational issues. Because the members of the Echo Board were split on the issue of the merger not all meetings were run as smoothly as they could have been.
I would like to thank the board members who have worked hard to provide the best education possible for the students in our schools.

This years Carnival Court consisted of Senior class princess Debbie Sherman and escort Jerry Schuening, Junior class princess Melody McCutcheon and escort Brett Rodhe, Sophomore class princess Laurie Longhorn and escort Willie Cano, and Freshman class Queen Kelly Morgan and escort Daman Horn. The Crown Bearer and Flower Girl were Shane and Stacey Zabranksy.Great Smokies!!
Scott Brooks, Monte Ellis, Kelly Fitzhugh, Ramona Gibson, Mark Hill, Larry Hunter, Cindi Longhorn, Tim Lortie, Lyle Nichols, Mike Schwarz, Deanna Pfel, Chris Ramos, Lyssa Brown, Nancy Day, and Susan Brown all worked hard to produce the plays of the 1977-78 school year at O.T.H.
Scott Brooks did a bang-up job in two plays, acting as Pa Schlepper and Doctor Patereski. Mark Hill came into his own as a stage man. Lyle Nichols and Lyssa Brown were ripe for action even before rehearsals started. Everyone did a good job—OH! Kelly Fitzhugh and Cindi Longhorn furnished us with a shocking surprise or two also—but all in all everyone performed very well in the four plays produced in '77-'78.
