DIRECTORS of School District No. 5 MR. J. RAMOS Mr. Joe Ramos is now serving his ninth year as a school trustee. He is a graduate of Echo High School and during his years of service has watched the district grow from 101 to 423 square miles; and has seen the valuation increase from $900,000 to $2,500,000. MR. R. ESSELSTYN Mr. Rod Esselstyn is the new cleric of School District No. 5. He is a graduate of Walla Walla high school and attended Washington State college for two years. During the war he was in the Navy for two years and spent one year overseas. He has been an Echo resident for about 20 years. MR. G. CAMPBELL Mr. Glenn Campbell is serving his first year on the school board. He went to high school two years in Pilot Rock and took his last two years at Cornell. He farmed in Washington for about 12 years, but in 1947 bought a wheat ranch on Butter Creek. He has lived there ever since. I MR. E. LIESEGANG Mr. Eddie Liesegang has been a member of the school board for three years. He was educated in the Echo schools. In high school he was an outstanding athlete. THE FACULTY They Lead and We Shall Follow MR. H. FOSTER Mr. Foster, superintendent, attended both the University of Washington and the University of Idaho. He has been teaching for twenty-one years. This is his first year at Echo. Mr. Foster instructs all music departments of both the grade school and high school. MR. GEORGE DeLAP Coach DeLap is a graduate of Washington State college. Coach is athletic advisor of all the boys' physical education classes. He also teaches boys’ health, geometry and general math. This is Coach's sixth year of teaching in Echo. - MR. NORM BERGSTROM Mr. Bergstrom graduated from Pacific University in Forest Grove. This is his fifth year of teaching. He teaches orientation, biology, general science and U. S. history. Mr. Bergstrom is also' bookkeeper for the school cafeteria.
