The girls worked very hard putting out the paper, but they had their share of fun in working together. LETTERMAN'S CLUB The Echo High School Letterman's Club began their regular Friday meetings in early fall. The 1951-52 officers are: President.............................Roy Rohde Vice President............ - - Lary McAtee Secretary.............................John Ramos Treasurer.............................Gary Dorn King of Swats.........................Bud Graham The main purpose of the Letterman's Club is to promote better sportsmanship and co-operation in school and in activities. For this aim the cuss can was established. Similar to a very crude penny savings bank, they were placed in the classrooms. Students were urged by the members to deposit a small sum for each profane expression voiced. The funds to go to a worthy cause—a Letterman s picnic in the spring. Initiation was held January 28, 1952, for the incoming members. The thirteen old members provided a rousing welcome. The newcomers to the organization are Lanny Dorn, Jim Pedro, Tom Able, Dave Correa, Ordean Johnson, Doug Deal, Dennis Schulz, Jim Tolan, Lisle Young, Don Smith, Gary Bohms, Don Ottum, Barney Bowman and Ronnie Dorn.
