State Champions Todd Hess has been a part of Eau Claire’s Var- siety Wrestling team for four years and qualified for state competition all four years. He placed in state competition three years. As a Sophomore, Todd placed sixth in the state at 126 pounds. As a Junior, he placed fifth in the state at 132 pounds. As a Senior, he finally accomplished what he wanted to do all along. He won the State Champi- onship at 145 pounds and became Eau Claire’s first State Champion ever, in any sport. We are all proud of Todd and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors. Kevin Moore, Dennis Alexander, Douglas Miller, and Todd Anderson composed the 400 m. and 800 m. track relay teams. They broke the school record and their own record many times. After taking first in the Conference meet, Rotary meet, and Regionals, they finally met their final goal by capturing the State Championship in both the 400 m. and 800 m. relay. To top it all off, Kevin Moore also placed second in the state in the 200 m. dash. Overall Eau Claire placed fourth in the state. We are very proud of these guys for their accomplishments and for giving Eau Claire’s track program a good name. We wish them good luck with everything they pursue in the future. 12
