FOREWORD
We, the Annual Staff of 1960, present this yearbook in the
hope that you will derive enjoyment from it and appreciate
the amount of time spent in preparing this book for you.DEDICATION
In appreciation, we, the Class of 1960, dedicate
this Beaver Tales to Mrs. McNeely who has made our
last year of high school the happiest of our lives. We
have taken our problems to her and she has always
been ready to aid us in any possible way. Not only has
she shared our sorrows but our joys. She-has given
of her time and effort to guide us along the path to
becoming better people. This is just a small token to
show our gratitude.
Although we as a nation have always been keenly interested in our
schools, the launching of Sputnik’ made everyone especially aware of the
importance of education. We are beginning to realize that the very existence
of our country and its form of government may well depend on our Educational
System. Therefore let each Community resolve to furnish its youth with the
facilities and personnel so that each one can have the opportunity of developing
his powers to his fullest extent--it is only by giving our youth its opportunity
that our country can maintain its rightful place in this space-age.

A PRINCIPAL’ DREAM
.That some Students will do outstanding things. Achieving name and fame,
.that all students will live a worthwhile life and have a worthwhile mind,
.that their town becomes the best on earth, most free from hate and crime,
.because these students came to school here for a few year’s time.

TALES OF THE BASKETBALL TEAM
The Beavers got off to a slow start in their 1959-60
season by dropping their first contest with New Buffalo on
their home court. The next week they traveled to New Troy
where they picked up their first victory of the season.
After this victory, things really looked good for the
Beavers, but the following Friday they dropped a very close
game to the Bridgman Bees. The Beavers then participated
in the Holiday Tournament at St. Joseph where they finished
in fourth place by defeating the St. Joe Ponies in the first
contest.
After the tournament the Beavers went into a long
losing streak. In every one of these games they have played
very good ball in the first half, leading most of the time,
only to fall apart in the second half.
We are very proud of the boys, because through all
the losing, they never stopped trying.

TALES OF THE FOOTBALL TEAM
The Eau Clair Beavers, under the able guidance
of Coach Dave Reynolds, suffered a trying season as
several starters were injured early in the season.
Despite these injuries the team played heads up ball
and maintained a high morale throughout the season,
of which we are very proud.
