15Grumblers
I wonder why they picked us for class grumblers. After all we're the
angels of the class, and have never done any griping before.
I don't see why Mr. Masten doesn't like his nickname Bobby .
Why can't Mr. Prediger get to school in the morning. He never gives us
an excuse for being late.
We can't understand why we, the Seniors, never make any money on parties
when we try so hard to do so. Can't the lower classmen understand and
co-operate???
Why couldn't four Senior boys finish making the fudge they started in
the home economics room..? Mr. Momany just threw it out any way.
Why are the teachers allowed to smoke in the boiler room and the students
can't.
I think the janitors by this time ought to know how to regulate the heat
on that new boiler.
I don't see why the Seniors can't have a sound proof room so when we
have a class meeting we won't distrub other classes.
I believe they should have a phone booth in the hall so that we wouldn't
have to tell anyone our business.
As long as students have to come to school I don't see why the teachers
have to lock the doors when we're only a minute late for class.
I don't see why Mrs. Carter hollers so loud when she wants us boys to
pay attention we're not deaf.
We don't see why Mrs. Ferris picks on Bob Peever all the time in her
classes, he's a nice boy. (ha ha)
I wonder why Eagles watch their nest. Huh, Mr. Prediger.
I don't see why we have to pick up paper after school because that's
why we have janitors.
I don't see why Mr. Masten's always griping about the Seniors, after all,
he is our sponsor.
I don't see why we Seniors can't make arrangements to come at ten o'clock
so we'll be able to catch up on our sleep.
It seems to me the lowerclassmen could leave the Seniors enough hangers
for their coats.
I wonder why the study halls have to be quiet, the commercial classes
don't.
I don't see why Mr. Prediger wouldn't change the seats in sociology class
this second semester. Maybe he thought we would cheat.
It isn’t right for the Senior girls to have to share their pies with
the Sophomore girls after all, they only made the crust.
1 don't see why the underclassmen get to sell pop and potato chips at
the basketball games. They ought to take it into consideration that the
Seniors have a Senior trip to plan on.

Seniors Thoughts To: Eau Claire High
We hate to leave you Eau Claire High,
But we can't stay here always,
We'll miss the gentle children too,
For time travels all the highways.
It seems like home to sit in here,
And while away the time,
And listen to the murmur of; Children,
For a goal they work to find.
It seems only as yesterday,
When we came up your hall,
To slumber through and say ado,
To you—one and all.
We've been treated with courtesy,
And guided by the hand,
Of honest looking fellows,
And the best teachers of the land.
Although we're growing up now,
We can look back down the trail,
And see the happy times we’ve had,
That now do not prevail,
We've wanted to graduate,
For many years that's true,
But we didn't know we'd have to say.
Our last good bye to you.
We have been in loneliness,
And saddness we do know,
But the saddest slogan we've found yet
Is Onward you must go!
