CLASS HISTORY ln the fall of nineteen thirty nine, Eighty one pup1ls began to climb The twelve year tree of educatxon Under very capable supervision. To the second branch of learning we finally succeeded And to words of Mxss Taylor and Miss Kirk we heeded. The operetta, Pageant of America we presented And all of our parents were very contented. Under the guidance of M1ss Bye, Our multxplicatlon tables we began to try And Just as we started short division, We recelved our promotlon to further erudxtlon But though our hearts were ln education Our mmds were ln the foreign nations Wherm the battle cry was sounding And many nations were resounding In the fxfth grade under Mrs Wladron We learned the hlstory of John Alden In thls class we are sorry to say That Mlss Estella Newton passed away Om' sixth grade was a successful year Thus we fxnlshed our grade school career Into Junior high we now were initiated, And the recesses we missed were not appreciated Several teachers we aggravated While on Jumor high parties we concentrated When our next inltlatlon day was slated, Comlc strip characters we lmpersonated With top hats and floor shows we really had funl What A Llfe' was the play as Jumors we presented And gomg to mght practices no one resented. The theme we pxcked for our prom was Love Land, And everyone who attended thought xt was gra.nd To the school board and faculty were sent requests, And the seniors were asked to be our special guests Our Sock Stampede was one high light of our senior year, And w1th loud stockmgs everyone looked mighty queer On the twenty first of April our semor play was given And one week later to the .Tumor Prom we were bldden From the flrst to the last those who were always on the class roll Were Dorothy, Layvoyd, Wllma, Bud, Jo Ann, Frances, and Noel Now that we have fll'llSh6d th1s branch of education, We glve our teachers a great ovation Though we are leav1ng good E H S To hlgher educatlon we all hope to progress Days to come as we remlmsce, We'll lbng for all the good tlmes that we ll miss Sylvia West and JoAnn Collins i H ..
