In September, 1954, thirty-seven young women entered Easton Hospital School of Nursing with anxiety and hope for fulfilling our dreams of becoming graduate nurses. Knowing this goal was three long years in the future, we lelt some uncertainty but with deterinination we were able to go on. Our first day, orientation, was filled with receiving books, meeting new friends and instructors, selecting room- mates and our Hrst lectures on the do's and dont's, curfews, lights out and study hours. affair as a class was a Our hrst social doggfe roast given in our honor by the tipperczlassinen. ln October, we had a Halloween party complete with apple cider, doughnuts and costumes. Deceinber was a busy month with a Christmas tea, caroling through the hospital, and the hospital Christmas dinner. The climax was a semi-formal Christmas dance which was held i11 the recreation room of the nurses home. Then-vacation! XfVe had two weeks to rest up for the semester to come. ,5 4 W5 1 Twelve 0
