The opportunity to examine your life and cultivate its potential provides the backdrop for the most exciting discovery imaginable. And in this day of need, in our society, in our world, the call for that search must summon our very best efforts. Our experience at ENC is not the culmination of this search but rather a stage in its progression. Each year here provides a multitude of rich opportunities to seek out our religious, academic, social and athletic potential, to strive to fulfill that capacity - and then to use it. It is the story of these opportunities that the NA UTILUS has chosen to tell. We are attempting to review the year as the expression of our search as individuals, teams, societies, organizations, and as a college. We have chosen the words to become to express this message. And to symbolize these words we have chosen the picture ofa galaxy - the embodiment of raw potential in the process of developing. This year we have seen potential fulfilled in many ways. We have seen a soccer team rise to its best team record, a student body work for a new gym, a basketball team capture second place in the country for Christian college, a victory won for ENC at King's, a student body seek a deeper religious commitment, and a meshing of school spirit and enthusiasm as well as a solidarity when we lost a fellow student and friend. A seasonal approach to this year's book has been used to integrate student and religious life with academic, social and athletic relationships in the way we have lived them. In re-living the year as you turn each page, consider not only the past but also the future - the excitement and challenge of opportunities ever before us, the continuing discovery of life and its social relationships, the depths of our own capacity, and the necessity to live our life at its best. For a better ENC. . . for a better world . . . today is the first day of the rest of our lives. 4
