I 4 P K I I 1 I U W r 4 1 i 3 1 1 THE YEAR BQGK STAFF PRESENTS THE I969 NAUTILUS Dear Reader: 1968-69 has been an exciting year at E.N.C.As you flip through the pages you will readily observe that there were some new and interesting social programs, some new clubs, and a lot of action. I have delib- erately used the candid pictures to try to capture the spirit of these events. I have tried to comply with your suggestions, in making this yearbook a more en- joyable one for YOU. Seniors . . . congratulations. I present this book to you. It has been your year of decisions, decisions that will determine some of your future, if not in some cases all of your future life. Life is no easy experience out there in the big bad world . You must do your best. It is so exciting to be living in today's world. So much to do and so many things to think about. Apply yourselves and be happy. Happiness will come after you have succeeded in doing your best. Good luck and may God bless each one of you. There have been some people who have been a big help this year. I would have had to hand out blank pages.and crayons if it was not for one photographer, Ken Nlurphy, and his workers at Dodge-lVlurphy Pho- tographers, Inc. Ken certainly has been a big help. His ideas and suggestions have been incorporated, I hope, to your approval and enjoyment. Thank you Ken, you have done an excellent job. Next we have IVlr. Don Doyle, the publisher of our book. He has been in my office, I don't know how many times, to help me. We have sat for hours and just discussed ideas before we ever laid out any of the pages. Thank you Don, you've been wonderful. Dr. Kauffman has produced our art work for the book and helped to coordinate the entire process, Thank you, Dr. Kauffman for your patience and ability. If I tried to list all of the people who have helped me, I fear I would forget some. I have so much en- joyed the willingness on the part of so many students to help with the book. lt is your book this year. Your ideas are there and so are many hours of many people's work there. Thank you so much. There are two people I would like to especially thank for their help and they are Barb Baker and Sotiros Pole- menakos. Barb was the literary editor and has done an excellent job. All of those pictures have captions because of her. I rest assured her book next year will be a superb one. Barb, thanks a million. Steve Polman, as you may know him, has worked very hard on coming up with the money we needed to produce this book for you. Thanks to Steve we were able to have the beautiful color section for Homecoming. lVle, well, I am glad it is all over. l cannot begin to tell you how much I have learned from his job. Thank you for giving me this opportunity. I wanted it to be your book, I hope you have and will enjoy it for many years. Just one last idea, be yourself, your very best self. Life is so much fun that way. Honestly! 5!5!69 Faye Lear Nautilus 1969 Editor-in-Chief 1Of12!69 David...l want you to thank all the people at E.N.C. for all their thoughts and prayers, I needed them.
