J .575 2-I C7'Z7,,l?l .fl -+A FACULTY AND ADMINISTRATION The accumulated wisdom, insight, and foresight of our faculty and the leader- ship of the administration have stimu- lated us to explore the depths of knowl- edge. As dedicated Christian scholars, they have helped us to unveil many of the mysteries ofthe universe but have left intact our respect for its fundamental mystery. In the quest for the intellectual under- standing of our faith we have often been confused. Our faculty and administra- tion have assured us that behind the enigma of life, which gradually unfolds for us, we may find a pattern and a pur- pose worth the investment of our lives, We have looked to our professional leaders for guidanccg they have not failed us. By precedent and precept they have united the intellectual lilc with the spiritu- al, giving each its proper symmetry. 72 C3 47' -Qll 4?C'1l -c -f5Qil v-

5 ,iifiaefi ruff rl ' align ' P' 'nc 4 Our President Speaks to Us: One of the highlights of any college year is the presentation of Handel's !lIc.s'sml1. Although I have heard it many times, each new occasion is equally thrilling and satis- fying. Regardless of the distractions or pressures ofthe day the message of this great oratorio comes through to me each time with renewed significance. Fortunate indeed is the person who opens his heart to the message of 7710 .1Icss1'r1l1 at the same time he is engaged in the pursuit of knowledge. His college career is en- riched and his entire outlook on life is broadened. He is combining his scholastic endeavor with a wholesome appreciation of his Christian faith. The best in education plus the best in our Christian faithn as articulated by Dean Emeritus Bertha Munro has long been the aim of our xlflllll .'l1'11ler. We have no high- er hope for every student at E.N.C. than the adoption of this ideal as a guide for life. Take His yoke upon you and learn of Him, for He is meek and lowly of heart . . His yoke is easy and His burden is light. Edward S. Mann A t .X.Al.,l.l..15. 13
