They have chased it through the labyrinth of their own minds. 'Iihey have called upon the myriad thoughts of their predecessors. They have looked into the tiniest of the earth's creation and away to the largest. They have tried to explain the abstract in terms of the concrete and the concrete in twins of the abstract. Yet they keep on searching. 'lihev are not content to rest. The frontiers of earth have shrunk and those of space ex- panded. An aspect of the mind appears thoroughly searchedg and vet we know we have not grasped its total essence. XYhy? Because we have not captured the whole and crammed it into one sentence -e-- one phrase e - one word? Because we have not seen the end nor found the beginning? Must all of life l lfphesiant 3.'17,l8. remain but a fruitless, unanswerable quest? No. Life is a process of growth. It is the development and maturing of life through our everyday contact with personality, human and divine. This will have meaning to us individually when the Golden Rule becomes our standard. lVhen we let the love that passes all understanding - God's love for man - control our life as a guide. So we have chosen our theme. A fleeting opportunity to develop Scholastic Height. Athletic Length, Social Breadth, and Spiritual Depth at Eastern Nazarene College. It would seem to us that this year has expanded our lives in an overwhelming measure. as fragments of the puzzle of purpose and life have Htted into a meaningful and satisfying picture. f l
