PREFACE From the first day we stepped through the doors of E.N.C., books have been the challenge, the stimulus, the entire business of our life. The story of our college years might be told in four volumes - Our Textbook, Our Becord Book, Our Book of Memories, and Our Book of Life. As textbooks are the foundation of academic subjects, so our facility members present a fundamental source of information on life at its potential best. They arc Our Textbook - living epistles known and read of all mcnf, Our record Book is more than a mere list of names. It re- calls for us permanently the faces of those who sat next to us in class, studied with us in the library, and lived near us in the dormitory. Also written there are our scholastic records which remind us of the real purpose of our college days - preparation for future usefulness. Preserved forever in Our Book of Memories are the good times we had together at E.N.C. The tingling vitality of an autumn outing, the last tense moments of a championship game, the good fellowship of hearty laughter and quiet conversation - all are captured for us to relive again and again as we turn the pages- There is a volume that is the index to them all. The truth it contains has been the inspiration, and the guiding star of our college. NVe purpose that it shall also be ours. VVhether we are working, play- ing, studying, or trying to apply the Colden Rule to problems of every- day life, we are expressing the same reverent enthusiasm for the book which is for us indeed - Our Book of Life.
