Envisioned with the purpose, In hoc signo vinces, Eastem Nazarene College stands to point us to Via, Veritas, Vita. Although the NAUTILUS is for everyone, it is especially for the senior. Hence, in its motto and in its colors, the NAUTILUS for nineteen hundred and fifty is closely linked with the Class of '50. just as each senior with lcnightly characteristics takes up the banner In hoc signo vinces, so each student in his preparation for knighthood may enter into the spirit of this same crusade. Like the knights of the Twelfth Century, we have the same three ideals . . . devotion to our lady, glorification of self, warfare for the cause of right. We, too, make our vows to uphold these ideals. Our lady is the Lady of Education. Whether kings with sincere loyalty tending the aspirations of our lady, or enfants, pages, squires, and knights receiving her wisdom, we uphold her standards. In each training period our devotion to her has been on trial, and it has proved true.
