It is the governing body of the men of this campus. The Men’s Union sponsored their annual “Yule Log Drag” in December at McKenny Hall. The Union worked hard to make the dance a success and was rewarded by a sellout crowd. The officers for the year were: Stanley Tomczyk, president; Ronald Oestrike, vice-president; Richard Miller, secretary; and Kent Thibaudeau, treasurer. Dean James “Bingo” Brown is the advisor for the Union.

Hawkins. women’s league executive board During the school year of 1952-53, the League expended most of its energies in assemblies, dances, elections, conventions, and campus-community services. The political debate given by Mr. Engelsman and Mr. Waugh, the Harvest Hop, and the League Lark were the largest activities, but not the most important. The Buzz Session, Community Service activities, and elections also required a great deal of work and planning. The League, the Student Council, and the Men’s Union also organized the foundations for the Leadership Training Work- shop that was held in February. To learn about the problems and solutions of such problems that arise in student government, League delegates attended the state convention of the Association of Women Students at Western Michigan College and the national convention at Ohio State University. The final activity was the initiation of new officers for the coming year.
