Eastern Hills' first graduate, Milton Strange, received his diploma in a special assembly. During Public School Week, visitors poured into the school for an Open House on Monday night sponsored by the P.T.A. and Boosters, Club. On Saint Patrick's Day, the girls' P.E. cle- partment served host to an annual city-wide folk dance clinic. Stage crews began Work on the senior play, 'LI Remember Mama. Y-Teens raised money at the April in Parisi' dance to pay for baseball uni- forms. Y-Teens also presented L'Welcome to Springf, a fashion show carried out through a Japanese theme. Miss Bakeris chorus presented a religious Easter pro- gram just before the Easter holidays. Wooden boxes painted gray with blue drawings of the school and athletic activities, were made and filled with useful ar- ticles for overseas shipment by the Red Cross. A number of trophies and cups were presented to the school by all who had earned them. At the program for the presentation of the Na- tional Honor Society charter, Nancy Armstrong handed Mrs. Tucker an un-abridged dictionary to be presented to Mr. Meacham, retiring Assistant Sup- erintendent of Schools, who was guest speaker of the occasion. 23
