He displays interest in all the students and willingly offers his help and advice to them. Mr. Chamberlain, Eastern's new assistant principal, has gained the respect and confidence of the stu- dents. As the faculty advisor to the Student Council, he works directly with the student body. Miss Benjamin, Dean of Girls and advisor to the Honor Society, is a friend of every girl at Eastern. ' , I . l w 1 l Inter-School Diplomats Members of our Student Council are delegated to represent Eastern in the Inter- School Council. Students from the various high schools throughout the city send representatives to discuss problems common to all. Three of Eastern's delegates are Ken Nobel, Jack Davis, and Rosemary Meyer. 'Q X 'fl-59343, As advisor to Eastern High School's Girls' League. Miss Benjamin frequently discusses League problems with the officers. Here she talks with the first-semester officers: Sandy Wheeler. Treasurer: Marilyn Trow- bridge. Vice-President: Mary Ellen Hewitt. Secretary: and Nancy Walker. President. The organization consists of all the girls in Eastern High School. The Girls' League sponsored the Christmas decorating. which greatly helped to promote the Yuletide Spirit throughout the school. Other projects were a fashion show. a dance. and the semi-annual Sophomore Tea. Girls' League These four officers were elected to lead the Girls' League during the second semester. Fred is a well-known pianist and organist around Eastern and Lan- sing. He has played the piano for eleven years and played with the Lansing Symphony Orchestra at twelve. He is an accompanist for the Orpheus Club, for Y.M.C.A. and Y.W.C.A. functions. Fred ac- companied two light opera shows in Lansing, two operettas at East- ern, and the Madrigal Choir.
