. . ,W . Eastern's Vic- tory Committee, a special Student Council group, is made up of the following stu- dents: seated, left to right, Donna Clark, Elsie Bro- kob, Chairman Bill Starr, and J ul i a B i b e r 1 standing, Charles Schroeder and Leonard Deason. Each member has a specific project which he carries out. Two of the projects the com- mittee has under- taken are a more extensive sale of defense stamps and the salvage of scrap metal and paper. On the whole, it is their duty to see that Eastern is prepared for pro- tection and assistance in any eventuality. The purposes of a First aid training course are fourfold: to prevent accidents, to enable a person to determine the nature of an injury, to train the first aider to do the proper thing, and to teach the correct method of transporting a victim. The picture shows people who took the First aid course which was taught by Mrs. McAllister. Mr. Williams had a first aid class for the faculty members. During one of Eastern's air raid drills, the photographer snapped this picture of the students on the second floor. White lines have been painted on the Hoors indicating where students should stand during a drill. Eastern has taken an active part in the national victory book campaign. The student council, through the Victory Committee. sponsored the local drive. The picture shows the poster that was displayed in the library to remind students to bring books.
