I I I and the Home Economics Ann Wl1eeler, B S, B A The HOME ECONOMICS department is endeavoring to help the students adjust themselves to the problems met in their daily lives as well as to improve their toods, clothing, and etiquette, To help accom- plish this purpose three new courses have been introduced this year. Personal and Social Problems, one ot the three, has be- come the most popular home economics course. Using a furnished apartment as a laboratory, the students at home' eco- nomics gain much valuable experience. ln addition to this they work in toads and clothing laboratories, and in the cafeteria where approximately 250 students buy their lunches every day. Irene Patterson, MS, Patnales, BS., Ruth Freelcind, B S Bernice Vallmer, BS tim H Although there is no subject taught in the LIBRARY, the work done there demands recognition, Miss Wheeler ond twelve student assistants are kept busy lending from a collection of approximately 6,000 books. During last year they circulated 32,344 books or about 200 books every day. ln an attempt to keep up to date, about twenty-tive new books are added to the collection every month. The library is not used as o study hall, lnstead, it is a place where students may come tor reference work or plesaure reading. I I I and the Library
