THE 1936 ARROW Twenty-six CLASS HISTORY 1 Continued w But in this search, a few would stop, And thus they'd fail to reach the top. Yet others swore they would not fail To search right on and find the Grail For it was Knowledge, and to sup Made greatest treasure of this cup. And when they'd found the long-sought cup They knew they'd never give it up. But still they'd share its precious drink With others who would learn to think. But very soon there came the day When Joy was King-all swords away! Instead the searchers each were knighted, -Blessings given-all wrongs righted. So thus prepared to leave the Hall, They met together for a ball, And there they feasted, danced and sang, And loud the hall with laughter rang. They talked of former games and balls, Of victories and even falls. Then there sounded to each ear A mighty note from bells so clear, Which signified the feast was o'erg They all must leave and close the door On former life. The future bright Was theirs for asking-their own right, To do with it as each saw fit, While paths with Knowledge would be lit. LOUISE SMITH, january 1936

THE 1936 ARROW CLASS HISTORY With frosty air the morning bright Summoned travelers to its light. A laughing hoard came running out To greet the sun with hearty shout. Today they knew they'd travel on And must their caps of knowledge don, For they to greater heights would go And would their force and spirit show. Yet as they neared the place of Fate, They called to mind the Cam'lot gate, Where great King Arthur once had schooled His Knights by kindness to be ruled. And then they thought as had each Knight, CAll filled with wonder and with frightD Of what before them there would lie, And of their motto- Do or Die! So spirited, they opened wide Their Cam'lot gate-and marched inside. Before them there where all could see, Stood Arthur's symbol- Victory. It promised them a future bright If all would work and do the right. And there were trophies and the lore Of those who had been there before. A great bell rang and they were led To halls aboveg and, at their head Were three good Knights and Ladies three, Who were their future friends to be. -To help them with each trial and test -To help them do their very best. lnstructed then, they went to find The Holy Grail-an only kind.
