:L bg 4 - : X frf'7 V iff x file 55515, X is I l mm On a bright September morning in l9hO, a small group of red-eyed children walked slowly into the East Washington Grade School. This was the class of H52H. After spending most of the year getting accustomed to school life, we buckled down and memorized HNip and Tuckn just in time to pass. The ne:t year we learned advanced readirg and spelling, also the correct way to toss a bean bag In third grade we were welcomed w1th open arms and a copy of Audubon's Bird Guide Between the regular subgects, we learned how to tell a redbird from a blackblrd and a Sycamore tree from a eucalyptus In fourth grade we reached the prestlfe of belonging to the Grade School Rhythm Band This consisted of tapping sticks together, beatirg drums, and snakint tambourine ow we were ready to go upstairs' The next four years passed very quickly, and we had m ny new experience , such as, going to high school twice a week for gym ard manual arts The la t part of eighth trade was the most exciting of our grale school years e spent hours plannin our class day and graduation programs, which were a great success Our last week was celebrated by a party every night, and after receiving our diplomas and writing certificate, we ran home to rest and recover Our high school life then began with shoeshines for the seniors and hard searche for the right class The cla s was areatlz increased by arrivals from Somrer t and other countrv schools The next three years were very engoyable ones, full oi xcitement e went to all the usual event such ball Lames, dance and many vacations 11th suite an effort, we manafed to stueeze in some tudyirg and earn a few credits time left for extra curricular aCt1V1tl6S Ie managed to put out a yearbook, plan class day and the other e sentlals Dow the time has come to leare, addin the la t line to the history of a class to be long remembered in a t Jashinfton Wifh chool CXO 2' if C A, .
