U.S. ARMY ROTC Colonel E. R. Matties Profosjor of Military Science Lt. Colonel Gordon R. Davis The U. S. Army offers a young man through the Reserve Officers Training Corps, an opportunity for advancement in the service of his country. Upon completion of the first two years, or the required training, a person possessing high qualities of character and leadership may enter into the advanced corps where, upon gradation, he can receive a commission as Second Leutenant from the U. S. Army Reserves. The Corps also maintains a nationally honored Band, Honor Guard, Rifle Team, and Sponsor Corps. East Tennessee State University is proud of the ROTC program, and the growth and advancement that the department has shown in the past few years. Major Kcrmit W. Boll 26
