ARTISTICALLY I1YCLI1VED Many students think of school as a lot of reading and writing or math problems, but that is not what it is all obout Here at East Side, we have art ond music classes in which students can demonstrate their many abilities by drawing, painting, playing a musical instrument or singing. The art classes give students a chonce to express their feelings ond ideas through their art work. There are Music Foundation classes, which give students an understanding of the history of music In the instrumental classes, students are given a chance to learn how to play an instrument of their choice. If they learn how to play this instrument weS. they can jon the school band or orchestra. The Chorus classes help students improve their singing Recently. Mr. Ransom, the Director of Fine Arts and Media, brought with him a group of professional musicians who displayed their many talents. By doing so. they were an inspiration to many of our music oriented students. As the times change, so do East Siders. A few years ogo Computer Math was introduced in our curricukm, and ever since it has been one of the most requested classes at the school Along with Computer Math, many honors classes have been added in the last few years. Classes designed to challenge our grfted students. There are also Busness and Technical classes n which students master skills which they wi use on future jobs. Classes such as Typng I and I. Bookkeeping and Business Machnes are offered to Secretarial and Busness students Whatever courses our students may select they a« have one thing in common ...
