26% utherford igh ueens A deserving girl, Shelley Higdon, was se- lected as Miss East High for 1985-86. As a result of her character, personality, and at- tractiveness, she was awarded this title from the Senior Class. Shelley’s hobbies include dancing and cheerleading. She is a member of the Pep club, Junior Civinettes, Spanish Club, and vice-president of the Senior Beta Club. Degie Burnette was the recipient of this title. Degie is a member of the Junior Civin- ettes, the Leo Club, Afro-American Club, FHA, and Christians-in-Action, of which she is vice-president. For the talent competition, Pam sang “‘A Merry Roundaley”’ (an echo song). She was chosen from a group of 14 young ladies by a panel of teachers. Pam represented East Rutherford High at the Carrou- sel Parade in Charlotte during the month of No- vember. Pam attended festivities in Charlotte during the Carrousel Parade schedule. While in Charlotte, Pam was escorted by Mr. Charles Trexler, an ambassador of Charlotte businesses. 106 Carrousel Princess
