Energy Awareness is not a very common subject discussed. But there are several students at Cool Springs Jr. High and East High School that are determined to make it more obvious throughout the Rutherford county schools. The organization is actually two clubs in one. The two clubs are NCSAS (North Carolina Student Academy of Sciences) and NEED (National Energy Education Day project). The club consists of 89 members from the 7th, 8th, and 9th grades. The advisors are Doris Tucker and Robby Jenkins. The club officers are front row, left to right, Connie Yelton; 7th grade representative; DaLea Ohmstead, President; and Crystal Skipper, secretary. Back row left to right, Robby Jenkins, advisor; Matt Brown, 8th grade representative; Jeff Lambert, 9th grade representative; Bart Jenkins, treasurer; Tami Matheny, Vice President; and Doris Tucker, advisor. The activities this year are homecoming, Operation Santa Claus, the canned food drive, the student faculty ballgame, Student Council work- shop Clique Day, and Awards Day. Good Work.
