Flashes of excitement are seen at pep rallies as we gather to cheer our athletes, have fun and burn energy. The band, the noise, the color and the cheerleaders always help to ease the tension of a routine school day. When one goes to junior high one doesn't expect the true life of high school. When finally at East, new friends are met and life-long friendships are established. High school can be the most exciting time of our lives, so we should make the best of our days spent here and grab all the flashes of excitement available. Of Excitement Introduction I5

Fashions at East range from leg warm- ers over jeans, under jeans, over tights, for warmth, for decoration and for fun, to the punk look which is still βinβ. The local punksters are in style with their short colored hair, miniskirts, tights, and balle- rina slippers. Belts were an addition to 1983-1984 style ranging from wide color coordinated sashes to the old narrow standards. Gaushos, or split skirts, re- turned from the early days of the β70βs style with the add-a-bead necklaces re- maining a popular accessory. Class rings are always in style, espe- cially the junior year. Rings came in all shapes and sizes, stone colors and metals. Rings represent to us completion of school, our alma mater, exchanges of love as Well as the expense of high school.
