The members of the Lancer Staff would like to express their appreciation to a few special people who have been very dedicated to their work and have offered us all help in a time of need. We want to thank our advisor Joy Cromer, our editor Gina Norris, and our assis- tant editor Dawn Joyner. The purpose of the Lancer Staff is to record memories, events, and records of each school year through photographs and copy. Each member must maintain a B average, must have a good school character, and must be recommended by a faculty member and a community person. A member of the staff has a year around job to perform. From April to September ads are sold, annuals are sold, a) and pictures are made and sold. From October to March, the staff participates in | two candy sales and puts the annual together. Gary This year the Leo Club participated in many activities. They sold balloons for the Homecoming game, had a bake sale, and a Leo picnic. They also did a skit for Homecom- ing and participated in the decorate-a-door contest. If a death in the family of a teacher, the club donates $10 to the teacher. The members took a trip to Charlotte for shopping and ice skating. They visited a rest home and had a clothing drive for a needy student. The club has a Christmas party and a Valentine project. The purpose of the Leo Club is to assist the Lions Club in aiding the blind, handicapped, and needy in our school and community. Dues are $2.50.
