Thus far this year the team has had a win and a loss. After losing the opener at Lynbrook. 48-47, the team came back to beat Oceanside 57-47. Some of the senior stars of this year's track team are: john Bresnihan, shotput and discusg jim Smillie, low hurdles and pole vaultg Charles Thiel, 100 yard dash and broad jumpg and Ken Krassner, sprints and high jump. This year we play our Hrst complete league schedule and the entire team has hopes of finishing it with flying Colors. Q4 'Q' ' qi This year's Baseball squad is potentially the best squad in the history of the school. The team has two excellent pitchers in co-captain, Charles Thiel, and Bob Craig. The squad was helped at the plate by Bob james, the other co-captain and a member of last year's All-Scholastic team, and Don XYf'arner, the third baseman. The team opened the season with victories over Levittown and Malverne before drop- ping a squeaker to South Side. Mr. Sackman. the coach, has hopes that this team will be one of the better teams in the league this year.
