BOARD OF EDUCATION The East Rockaway Board of Education under President Robert R. C. Pape this year continued its untiring efforts to improve East Rockaway High School. New classrooms, an enlarged library and the nearly-completed auditorium attest to the interest which these men take in our school. Board Members are: Henry Gessner, Dr. Anthoney Scimica, Harold Sherman, and Edmund Smith. Others included in the picture are: Nathaniel Mott, clerk; Hillard Proctor, treasurer; and Dr. Harold Studwell, Superintendent of Schools. PARENT-TEACHER ASSOCIATION One of the most important organizations in the school is the P.T.A. Parents and teachers become better acquainted at the monthly meetings under the direction of Mrs. Ridley Locke, president. The P.T.A. is always trying to find ways to aid both the school and the students. A scholarship is awarded annually at graduation to the most deserving senior.
