DEDICATION When our class was called together to decide to whom we would dedicate our yearbook, it was no difficult decision. No one has given so much of his time, effort, and knowledge to East Rockaway High School's students as Mr. Henry Fordham. He has not given special attention to any particular group, but Mr. Fordham's touch has been seen in community, church, and school events. Many of us performed on these occasions in the chorus or band. The Operetta, Christmas Program, Spring Festival, Variety Show and other musical programs bring back to us recollections of hard work, gay rehearsals, and of the one man to whom we owe more than we can ever repay. East Rockaway High School has come to be known throughout the state because of Mr. Fordham's achievements in music. His much-needed guidance was generously given to us, and now we, the Class of 1948, as a last gesture, wish to dedicate our yearbook to the man who will always make our memories of schooldays happy ones. Thank you, Mr. Fordham. 5

FOREWORD There’s A Song In The Air” From our first days at East Rockaway High, we have eagerly looked forward to the time when me might publish a yearbook, to be in later years a reminder of school days long past. This is the finale. Within these covers we have recorded our many days of happiness and also our plans for the future. Music has been entwined throughout our school life, so, as Seniors, we have decided to present a record of the part we and music have played in our school life. We hope that our ROCK will bring to others the pleasant memories we have shared during our four years of high school. 6
