ENGLISH DEPARTMENT Me, Myself and I” Seated: Mr. M. Sackman, Miss A. Hickman. Standing: Miss M. Lorens, Mrs. M. Howard, Mrs. A. Reilly. From Ivanhoe to Macbeth, from gerunds to hyperboles, our English teachers have brought us safely through the wilderness of literature and grammar that confronted us all. Without the help of these tireless teachers, we could have never understood and enjoyed the finer points of literature, and some of us can actually write a non-run-on sentence now. Here are the capable instructors of our future civic leaders. We cannot put into words the debt we owe these teachers, as studying the historic past and turbulent present of our country and of the world in which we live will better prepare us to understand the future that will be our problem, as the past has been that of preceding generations. SOCIAL STUDIES’ DEPARTMENT America.” Left to Right: Mrs. E. Yetter, Mrs. E. Joy, Miss M. Lorenz.

Left to Right: Dr. H. F. Studwell, Mr. E. Smith, Dr. A. Scimeca, Mr. R. Pape, Mr. H. Sherman, Mr. H. Gessner, Mr. H. Proctor, Mr. N. Mott. PARENT-TEACHER ASSOCIATION One of the most active and vital organizations of the school is the P. T. A. It acquaints the parents with members of the faculty and the activities of the school. It also does many worthwhile things for the students, such as the granting of a scholarship in June to a member of the graduating class. Officers of the organization are: Mrs. C. W. Laue, president; Mr. H. W. Clark and Mrs. H. Bunting, vice-presidents; Mr. G. Meske, treasurer; Mrs. W. Hamsley and Mr. M. Sackman, secretaries; and Mrs. H. Sherman, financial secretary. It's Up To You BOARD OF EDUCATION These men of the community, who have given up their time so willingly, were elected to their positions because of their competence. They approve our texts and formulate the policies by which Dr. Studwell directs our schools. Under the leadership of Mr. Pape, the board struggles with the many problems that confront our school system in these turbulent times. Let’s Get Together” Seated: Mrs. W. Hamsley, Mr. G. Schuler, Mrs. A. Pallokat, Mr. H. W. Clark, Mrs. C. Laue, Mr. G. Meske, Mrs. H. Bunting, Mr. M. Sackman. Standing. Dr. H. Bormann, Mrs. W. Kinnier, Mrs. B. Nolan, Dr. H. Studwell, Mrs. H. Sherman, Mrs. O. V. Gerth, Mrs. A. Durso, Mrs. R. Barker.

ARTS’ DEPARTMENT Remember When Seated: Mrs. M. Nelson, Mrs. J. Noonan, Miss M. Failing. Standing: Mr. H. Fordham, Mr. J. Ruck-deschel. These digit-jugglers direct one of the most important courses in school, starting under the wing of Mrs. Symonds in Junior High and continuing up the scale to Mrs. Joy and finally to Miss Olson. We wish to extend our appreciation to these teachers who have trained us so well that some day we may be able to figure out our income tax. Will we ever forget the thrill of having a picture hung for exhibition; of blowing the first few notes,on a clarinet; of seeing Dad proudly show off our first book ends; of seeing Mom’s incredulous look as she tasted our pie crust? No, we’ll never forget. Our unlimited thanks go to the teachers who helped us achieve those successes. Mrs. Nelson, Mrs. Noonan, Miss Failing, Mr. Fordham and Mr. Ruckdeschel. MATHEMATICS’ DEPARTMENT I’ve Got Your Number” Left to Right: Mrs. J. Symonds, Miss G. Olson, Mrs. E. Joy.
