DEDICATION In our four years in East Rockaway High we have found in Miss Duffy a friend and helper of immeasurable value. She is number one on the hit parade of the class of 1946. Every morning as she drives up in the Black Beauty she carries with her an air of happiness. In school the wit that is intermingled with paint brushes and drafting utensils makes her classes among the most popular in the school. Never a resting moment would probably be on the Duffy Coat of Arms, if there was one, because if she isn’t working with us on I he Rock you may find her making “petits choses” for her house or hunting up some exquisite piece of jewelry. In leisure moments swimming and good music take the time of our good-natured “buddy. We use this term because she means more to us than just a friend. As we dedicate this book to her we can only say, Thanks for everything. Miss Duffy!

SERVICE MEN KILLED IN ACTION It is fitting that this class, the first since 1941 to graduate into a world at peace, dedicate a page to the 12 former students of East Rockaway High School who died in our armed services. We have heard much about the expense and waste of war. but only in the grim reality of losses like these can we count the real cost. A tribute in words alone is not enough.
