FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA EAST NICOLAUS CHAPTER 55 President Vice Pres Secretary, Treasurer Reporter Advisor Mr Hawthorne Louis Ettlin Joe Goyette Bill McW1lliam Adin Goyette Jim Sllls When school opened 1n September our organization found itself w1thout the services of five young men who for four years helped to make the East Nicolaus Chapter one of the outstanding clubs among the schools in Northern California One of these members, Leo Michel, was elected to the degree of State Farmer in May and is continuing as an active graduate member Early 1n the year the service took our President, Louls Ettlin, which left us with two seniors, Bill McWill1am and Joe Goyette This condition coupled with the fact that Freshmen could not take agr1culture this year left the burden of running our organization largely to the Sophomores The fact that these boys came through almost one hundred per cent 1n supportlng our vlctory farmlng program speaks xell for them The1r projects thls year consisted malnly of victory gardens, rabbits, beef cattle, sheep and record keeplng, In the latter category Irvin Schwall's project book consisting of records on one thousand five hundred laylng hens was judged one of the best in the Sacramento valley The Future Farmers ended a successful year with a very successful Barn Dance on A9211 30 22 1 0 Q ' o a o Q s o I O Q I I 9 Farm Watch Dog . . . . . . . . . . . . : . . . .
