You won our admiration by being everwilling to help a student in need, and to fight for the betterment of the educational process at E.L.H.S. The excellent produc- tion of the early seventies, " Marne " , " The Impossible Years " , " Fiddler On the Roof " , and " The Sound of Music " , entertained packed auditoriums, and gave wit- ness to your outstanding work with the Drama Club. You have been sadly missed since ill health forced you to leave E.L.H.S. in the fall of 1975. It is impossible to estimate the number of those who have benefited from your unselfish dedication to the students of E.L.H.S. The class of 1976 can surely speak for those who preceded it in expressing their deep gratitude to you for your loyal service. We wish you the best of health, and fondly dedicate Aegis 1976 to you, Mrs. Dorothy Allard. Its passage may be soft and gentle, Or be as sharp as thunder, But always, it runs out. When a friend ' s time has elapsed And her life has ebbed away, Just a silhouette of pleasant memories remain To carry us through difficult days, As the moist sand endures the wear, when the waves recede. We try to understand this inevitable cycle Which like the frothy ocean waves, Overcomes us as we play in its shadow, Shattering our dreams, Awakening us to reality. We fail: still we face death, mystified. We try to find peace. Knowing she has found a peace, As everlasting as the constant tide. M.R. Terry Ryan (1957-1973) . . . and she ' s buying a stairway to heaven. Fondly remembered by her graduating class of 1976. In this correspon- dence, much of it previously unpublished, are the concerns, emo- tions and politics of the Rosenbergs as they sought to calm their children and themselves while the United States government warned, " Talk or Die! And they talk about their own growth in the politically turbulent 1960s. They remain convinced of their parents ' innocence and present arguments and evidence — some of it never before published — supporting their claims.
