'K J 1, ,L ,qplqwuvwv-N ' The Board of Educatuon has had a very busy and tough year They have kept an uncreasung flow of textbooks laboratory equupment machunery and supplementary materuals movung unto the classrooms They spent many hours tryung to work out solutuons to many local school problems These men and Supt Ralph Betts are now undertakung the mammoth task of supervusung the construction of two uunuor hugh schools and an elementary school Puctured above seated us Mr O E Hall and from to rught Mr R S Buzzard V D Sanford J Curry J D Bennett J F Fortuner andl A Hoffman Mr Sanford and Mr Fortuner replaced returung mem bers Mr Buzzard and Mr Hoffman Determuners Here we have the Superuntendent of East Luverpool Schools, Ralph W Betts new to the posutuon but not to the stu dents Before comung to East Luverpool Mr Betts taught at Ashtabula for four teen years eleven of whuch he was prun cupal of a uunuor hugh school He came to East Luverpool Hugh School un l943 as pruncupal He has been very unstrumental un the recent successful campaugn for the school bond ussue the furst passed sunce l9l8 Mr Betts has served on the state com muttees of the Ohuo Pruncupals Duscussuon Group As hobbues the Superuntendent lukes to watch all kunds of sports and to play very amateur golf Hus two sons jack and um graduated from ELHS in I9-48 and l95O, respec- tively, Both are now at Ohio University.
