eJication Teacher, guide, friend—Mr. Lynn R. Watson has been a part of the Leyden High School family for 27 years. As a long-time member of the faculty, he has seen many changes and improvements in the school. He has helped in the initiation and fulfillment of some of these, and he has always been a willing and enthusiastic rooter for the betterment of Leyden. For more than a quarter of a century, students have felt his interest and concern in helping them prepare for their future roles in an increasingly more complex world. As a teacher of industrial arts, mechan rc. drawing, and architectural drafting, ho has helped numerous Leyden boys realize their ambitions of learning useful skills and becoming productive members of society. During his service at Leyden Mr. Watson has also taught general science, has coached all sports, and has served as athletic director. It is to you, Mr. Watson, with our humblest respect and most sincere appreciation, that we, the staff of this yearbook and the students of Leyden Community High School, dedicate the 1957 edition of the EAGLE. Leyden's Curriculum Coordinating-Council meets daily to help promote the smooth functioning of the school. The Council is concerned with all experiences planned or sponsored by the school which in-’ elude ol affect the student. Interschool activities, course of study, organized activites of the faculty, and school-community activities are all topics for their study. HELP US PREPARE FOR THE FUTURE As days go by, our administration and faculty think of modern ways to guide the student at Leyden. They encourage the Leyden student to have confidence in himself, so that he may gain a stable position in the years which are ahead of him. Although these people who are our daily aids during high school life aren't fully appreciated now, they will nevertheless have played a great part in every student's life at Leyden Where We Prepare for the Future.
