BOARD OF EDUCATION . . . . . GUIDES OPERATION OF SCHOOL The people express their will concerning school affairs through an elected seven member Board of Education. The Board is responsible for maintaining facilities which make possible the building of the ’ Leyden Citizen of Tomorrow . The ever increasing student enrollment make this object more difficult to reach with each passing year. Other Board duties include employing the administration and faculty, planning the annual budget, and levying the taxes needed for the support of the school. ADMINISTRATORS ... . . . LEAD SCHOOL As Chief Executive of the Board of Education of Leyden Community High School for the past four years. Wade A. Steel has guided the ever growing faculty and administration in creating the Leyden Citizen of Tomorrow . Decisions he makes every day help to make Leyden a smooth working organization. true to its purpose of sending men and women into the world who are true Leyden citizens. Mr Wade A. Steel .Superintendent Mr. Walter D. Stille Assistant Superintendent Walter D. Stille, assistant superintendent, has been responsible for the arrangement of student and faculty schedules, advising curncu lum study, and supervising the faculty for the past three years. He is also responsible for guiding students entering and leaving Leyden. His aid is constantly felt by the ever increasing student body as they move through Leyden on the road that leads to the Leyden Citizen of Tomorrow '. R. C. Freytag, business manager, as financial liason representative of the Board of Education, is responsible for the proposal of all budqets, financial expenditures, procedures and policies dealing with the business phases of Leyden's operation, and the purchase of all equipment. In his second year, Mr. Freytaq has fostered a cooperative program of the Board and Ad ministration with the -students' educational re quirements to provide those things which are necessary for the adequate development of the Leyden Citizen of Tomorrow .
