BOARD OF EDUCATION GUIDING INFLUENCE BEHIND . . . DEDICATION The Leyden Citizen of Tomorrow is the end result of many factors. He himself, his parents, his friends, and all the other things that go into making up his own particular environmental pattern and individual heritage. The school plays an important part in developing this individual into a worthwhile member of the community. Leyden is interested in developing a well rounded citizen that will fit into the particular segment of the community in which he will best succeed. Curricular and extra curricular activities help to mold the Leyden student. The student body, the faculty, and the administration all contribute their share towards developing this citizen. But, as in all things, chaos exists without proper direction. This direction, which makes possible the type of educational program depicted in this book, comes from the Board of Eduction. Seven individuals, at present, six men and a woman, all duly elected by the adult citizenry of the community, form the Leyden Board of Education. Under their guidance and influence the Leyden Citizen of Tomorrow becomes a reality. It is to these seven that we. the staff of the 1956 EAGLE, and the student body of Leyden Community High School, respectfully dedicate this, our record of the year's activities, the 1956 EAGLE. . . .
