1.1,1..-- 1 ww? ag 2' S ' 91 November 16, the curtain rose on the senior play. g'The Curious Savage. The play was under the direetion of Kfr. lYar- ren A. Riehard with the help of Patti Tossy. assistant director, and Bill Cowan, assistant producer. The Curious Savage, a three aet eoxn- edy, takes place at S'I'he Cloistersf' a private rest home. Mrs. Savage, by Car- leen Hedlund, has been put in the rest home by her three children-Senator Titus Savage, Carl Napoli: Judge Samuel Savage, Wade Stevens, and Lily Belle Sav- age, joleen Treaster. Mrs. Savage has a large sum of money with whieh she wants to build a memorial to her dead husband. Other guests at i'The Cloistersn are Fairy May, Rornayne lVagner, who must be told every day that she is loved: Florenee, Carol Sorber, who thinks a doll is her dead son, John Thomas CMike Riehardl: Hannibal, jim Peters, who thinks he can play the violin, Mrs. Paddy, Diane Kie- pert, who gave up eleetrieity for Lent. and Jeffery, Ken Pieree, who thinks his face was badly searred when he was in the war. All these guests beeome fast friends of Mrs. Savage. The stafT mem- bers of the rest home are Miss Wilhelmina, played by Carrie Kimber, and Dr. Em- mett, played by Tom Reed. They are also working for Mrs. Savage's welfare. The plot was a very clever one revolving around the ehildren's trying to get Mrs. Savagc-'s money. It has a happy ending with Mrs. Savage Hnally leaving the rest home in full charge of her money. The play was a hard one to aet out and the east did an excellent piece of work. The Curious Savage was a thoroughly enjoyed play. I l P l l , Q .4-f 9 'o I.. s', -- 0 - C 6 ... xlffflllfm' X44 lg: un' ....,.., 00'
