A Glumpse unto Cur Past September 7 1954 Into the halls of East Lampeter Hugh School stepped suxty one wude eyed freshmen the future class of 1958 After several meetungs un whuch Mr Rull explauned the varuous functuons of the school we soon got unto the swung of thungs and organuzed unto an actuve group Our class officers were Jay Myers Presudent Scott Swank Vuce Presudent Ruth Ann Smuth Secretary and Dorus Shenk Treasurer As the year progressed we began to thunk of ways to boost our class treasury We held a food sale and when basketball season came along we sponsored a dance after one of the games Tume flew and before we knew ut we were sophomores' Our officers were Nancy Keneagy Presudent Scott Swank Vuce Presudent Ruth Ann Smuth Secretary and Jerry Evans Treasurer The bug event of the year wa choosung our class colors charcoal gray and whute In November our uackets and hats arruved un tume to wear to the first basketball game We agaun held a successful food sale and a dance after the Alumnu basketball game In March everyone had a wonderful tume on our trup to Gettysburg And to complete our first actuve year un hugh school we held a roller skatung party un May Back to school agaun thus tume as lunuors Thus year our class officers were all gurls and Treasurer Lous Buckwalter Class rungs and puns were ordered and soon we were proudly wearung them We agaun sponsored a dance after the Alumnu basketball game We also held a successful bake sale sold chups at noon and sponsored the school P GY Yearbook deadlunes play practuce essays to wrute ads to sell' We re now busy senuorsl Thus year the boys seem to thunk uts theur turn to govern the class The electuon results were Presudent Ray Kendug Vuce Presudent Jay Myers Secretary Jerry Evans and Treasurer Donald Kustler The first event of our busy senuor year was the productuon of the play Love ls In The Aur whuch was very successful ln November we spent an unforgettable day at Washungton on our first senuor trup We sold refreshments and sponsored a dance after the Pequea Valley game un January Along wuth our many actuvutues we were busuly workung on our yearbook In May we took our trup to New York Cuty whuch was another memorable day for us Then came the clumax of our school days the week of Class Nught Baccalaureate and Commencement Sunce our class was the fiftueth and the last class to graduate from East Lampeter Hugh School we felt that our graduatuon nught was a very umportant event un the hustory of our school We look back at our four hugh school years and remember all the thungs we dud as a class lts been a busy four years but we ve loved every munute of ut' 27 U I , . . .
