' ' .' fo- 9 L. i' -ll E In ' 1 1 . sl PROI'Hl'It'Y OF '35 ll'ontinued from page 271 IN SLl.'MS.'i Heading further we found 'that Irene Albright Zllld Laura Zimmerman had been awarded medals for their splendid work in lighting a contaeious disease which had been threatening the slums of New York. The other nurses of note mentioned w'ere Grace Iiraatz. Mildred Metzler, and Viola Lawrence, How fortunate they were to have a chance to help their nation in sucl1 a way! As 1ny eyes wandered over 'the pagre, I noticed the picture of a charming young lady who seemed to be familiar. Sure enough she was. for the paper read: Miss Mary I.el4'exrc, noted teacher of Music. leaves for an indefinite 'tour of Europe. So golden voiced Mary had also made good. 1-lil thinking our class has, I began when suddenly 1ny eyes rested o11 a small col- umn announcing the marriage of Ina Sliealfer aml a lucky young man, both of Lancaster. Ina had always longed to be a homemaker, and now her dreams were to be realized. Soincthing else I read with reinemlzrzutce. The beautiful flowers used to decorate the :hutch were furnished by Weaver's Florist Shop, Richard NVeaver. Owner. I was now quite stunned by the revelation of all this good fortune, and I turned on the radio so that I might once more eome clown to earth, We will now have the business reports ot' the Armstrong Linoleum Company, interrupted the Announcer, by Landis llrrshey, business manager of said Iirm. So even other people had recognized Landis's business ability, Landis had been busi- ness manager in the Senior year. Well, I'd bet U11 his rising.: in his present field. Well. counting.: Kenneth Warfel aml Marvin Ilutchinson, who are both mechanics in t-ur hoinc airport. aml Paul Luttcnberger, who is clerking: in XVatt X SIIZIIIVIS, we havcn't lel'l many out who have not reached their goal. Uh, we're not finished, said Carvell, 1 know that Pete XVeaver is employed by a large I'hiladelphia trucking concern and that Esther Marie Burkhart is still employed at the 'Willows' Itestanrantf' 'Not to mention the Mr. Richard Mylin, famous for his work in the conservation of forests, continued Carl. At least I know something about 'the activities of the members of our class. I know that Frank Ilerr covers territory in and near the city of New York, convincing people that he has the best electric motor for sale. If you want to know how he's getting along, just ask one of his victims! Also. Robert Brubaker is the owner of a prosperous tirm in the home-town, Lancas'ter, Now as our plane comes to its landing and my trip is over, I 'think once more of how the class of '35 has lived up to its higher ideals and how n1y former classmates have also made happy landings in their chosen occupations. IQDNA Bpoqjlgglg, 735 LAST WILL AND TESTAMIGNT liftllliililltai from page 281 17. Itcba Iireiser and Ilelen Moore will their remaining powder boxes to Mary Wilson. IS. Mary Itohrer leaves her quiet nature to Helen Ilenlinger. 19. Arline Marron leaves her seriousness lo Oliver IIess. hoping that he will use it iminediately. 20. Lenora Bltzer wishes to retain the changeable color of her hair until she iinds a color which suits her best, 21, Helen Smoker wills her ability to ring bells promptly to whoever may be the future bell ringer. 22. Viola Lawrence leaves her studious nature to the multitude in need of it so that tl1e teachers' burdens may be greatly decreased next year. 23. Ina Sheafter wills her slimness to Grace Nonnenmocher. Paul Luttenbergcr would not allow his to be given away. 24. Gordon Kline: wills his feat of playing a piano as it should be played to Harold Smith. Marvin Hutehinson leaves his forward nature to Roy Beck 1fonditionally,-he must not become over confident. 26. Kenneth XVarfel could not be wheedled into giving away his perfect combination of red hair a11d freckles. 27. Irene Albright leaves 'those beautiful natural wave's to Dorothy Melligan and hopes she will appreciate the gift. 28. Esther Marie Burkhart leaves her artistic ability to Raymond Creamer, the artist of a perfect Sahara Desert. 29. The class of '31 despite its trying: manners, leaves its goodwill to all the teachers, hoping: that they may remember the good points and forget the others. XVe do hereby constitute and appoint Miss Livingood sole executor of this, our Last NVill and Testament. In witness whereof. we, the class of to this our Last XVill. do set' our hand and seal this eleventh day of May. one thousand nine hundred and thirty-five.
