The officers of the sophomore class stimulate interest in and organize both social and fund- raising activities . One of their main objectives is to foster a sense of class unity. They also serve as a liaison between sophomores and the administration, informing the administration of student feeling on many issues . Student Council Officers Terry Conner, President: Lauren Shields, Vice-President, Geno Hilton, Treasurer, Kim Paulson, Secretaryp Meredith Brightbill, Parliamentarian. junior Class Officers Tom Paxson, Vice-President, John Bruno President: Sue Willis, Secretaryp Joy De: Pue, Assistant Treasurer. Not Pictured: Donna Kimmel, Treasurer. The junior officers representthe junior class of East and face the big job of getting things settled for the first graduating class. They have already begun work on class rings, class dues, and the junior prom. They'll be busy all year!

Activities Student Council The student council, which is supervised by Mr. Dieterle, has a lot of responsibility this year. It is their job to organize the student government and to write a constitution . They hear the opin- ions and needs of the students through the home- room representatives . The student handbook is designed to present the students' view of school regulations, policies , and services . The committee met with Dr. McAdams and Mr. London on sever- al occasions during the first two months of school. The text and artwork for the hand- book were totally the responsibility of the students . 24
