Competition among the homerooms helped promote greater interest in scholarship throughout East High. Each nine Weeks the Student Council awarded a pennant to the home- room with the highest average. The Citizenship Committee stressed good attendance, collected food for the needy at Christmas time, chose study hall chairmen and interpreted proper procedure in conducting council election.
